Automatic driving is becoming more and more popular!

Traditionally, most people in the UK have learnt to drive in manual cars.
Until quite recently only larger expensive cars could be fitted with reliable automatic transmissions.
But now even the smallest cars are available with a good reliable automatic transmission. Within the next few years most new cars purchased will be automatics. All car hire companies offer automatics too.
So there really is no longer much point in struggling to master the clutch and gears of a manual car. It's old fashioned, unnecessary, and will no doubt soon be obsolete. In the USA virtually everyone drives automatic.

Automatic cars have only two pedals, the accelerator and the footbrake. Each pedal is operated by your right foot. Your left foot is never used. No co-ordination of the feet is required. The car decides when to change gear. You can concentrate fully on the road without needing to think about controlling a clutch and deciding which gear to use. You cannot stall an automatic car!

Terms and Conditions of Booking
A minimum of 24 hours notice is required to cancel a driving lesson, otherwise we may still charge you for the lesson, depending on circumstances.
We are always understanding when a normally reliable long term pupil genuinely needs to cancel for good reason. We no longer accept cheques. Please do not present yourself for a driving lesson in soiled clothing straight from work (plaster, paint, oil etc). You cannot cancel a lesson by email, only by text or by telephone. Our cars are only available for use on the driving test when both the pupil and the instructor agree that the pupil is properly prepared for the test, and when the instructor is completely satisfied that the pupil, other road users and our vehicle will be safe.
